The Council of Higher Secondary Education has issued a clear and firm warning to students appearing for board examinations, stating that those found carrying or using electronic gadgets will face strict disciplinary action. The announcement comes as part of the council’s effort to ensure fair examinations and maintain the integrity of the evaluation process.
According to CHSE officials, gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and other electronic accessories are strictly prohibited inside examination centres. Even if a device is not actively used, mere possession during the exam can invite punishment under existing examination rules. The council has instructed invigilators and centre superintendents to conduct thorough checks before and during examinations to prevent violations.
The move reflects growing concerns over unfair means enabled by advancing technology. With gadgets becoming smaller and harder to detect, examination authorities are tightening monitoring measures to create a level playing field for all students. CHSE has made it clear that ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as an excuse, and students must take personal responsibility to comply with the guidelines.
Penalties for violating the rules may include cancellation of the current examination paper, disqualification from remaining exams, or further disciplinary action as decided by the council. Officials have urged students to carefully read all instructions mentioned in their admit cards and follow them strictly.
