Rajkumar Bafna, the President Finance of Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd, has resigned from his position effective December 31, 2025, citing the severe air pollution in Delhi as the reason for his departure. In a resignation letter addressed to the company, Bafna mentioned the deteriorating air quality in the national capital and requested to be relieved at the earliest.
The company has accepted his resignation and confirmed that he will be formally relieved of his duties at the end of the year. In response to his letter, the company acknowledged his concerns and emphasized the importance of health considerations amid the hazardous environmental conditions.
Delhi has been experiencing dangerously high levels of air pollution, with the Air Quality Index frequently entering the very poor and severe categories. Dense smog and elevated particulate matter have raised public health concerns, prompting authorities to enforce strict pollution control measures under the Graded Response Action Plan.
