IIT Indore Creates Human Like AI Replica to Detect Diseases

IIT Indore has unveiled a human like AI powered replica designed to detect diseases and simulate how illnesses affect the human body. The announcement came during the Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference in Bhopal. This innovative project aims to assist doctors and researchers by providing a platform that can mimic basic human functions such as breathing and blinking while monitoring changes that could indicate potential health issues.

The technology is part of the Charak Digital Twin Platform developed under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems supported by the Department of Science and Technology. It uses artificial intelligence models trained on human parameters to flag possible disease states when thresholds are crossed. The team has already created a digital twin model for the lungs and plans to expand the system to include other organs such as the heart.

IIT Indore is working closely with AIIMS Bhopal AIIMS Delhi and AIIMS Raipur for clinical validation and further development. This AI powered replica represents a significant step forward in preventive healthcare offering the potential for early disease detection and virtual testing of treatments before they are applied to patients.
